After some serious dyno sessions we have develope d a Race Pipe for the CR500. It has a wider power band and a little more peak power than our dune pipe.
This pipe will fit the 1989-2001 CR500, Please inquire about fitment on other chassis.
The Dyno results as shown above. Our pipe power peaks at 7250 RMP at 73.32 HP. The other dyno result is with Brand X pipe, and power peaks at 6400 RMP at 64.46 HP. This pipe made 8.86 HP over a competitor pipe!
Installation Instructions for the CR500 Race Pipe
1.) Remove the stock pipe; slide the race pipe in place. The flange socket fits tight, especially on a new cylinder flange. Apply grease, and twist the pipe up and down to seat firmly on flange, and then install the springs.
2.) This pipe is LARGE, therefore must fit very close to the frame to avoid contact with the front tire. Moving the pipe up or down a little before tightening the mounting bracket will maintain a small amount of clearance between pipe and frame rails.
3.) It will be necessary to jet 2 sizes richer than most pipes on the market. To be safe jet up 2 sizes, and then adjust after the bike has been run for a while.
4.) Do not use too long of a bolt on the rear bracket as it will crush the stinger tube causing poor performance.
